Bill Gates' French Riviera Berths for Sale Following Superyacht Program Shift
Bill Gates has placed the two berths at Port Vauban up for sale, which were initially part of his hydrogen-powered yacht program. This sale reflects a significant shift in the superyacht industry, underscoring the evolving landscape of luxury maritime real estate.

The two berths at Port Vauban, leased by Bill Gates in 2020 for €63 million ($80 million), are now on the market. Originally intended for Gates' hydrogen-powered superyacht Breakthrough and support vessel Wayfinder, the berths were part of a larger infrastructure investment exceeding €7.1 million ($8 million) to accommodate advanced hydrogen fueling technology.
The berths, A01 and A02, are located on Billionaires' Quay, capable of hosting yachts over 100 meters. The current sale follows Gates' divestment from both vessels, leaving behind a unique opportunity for future owners seeking prime superyacht real estate in the Mediterranean. The ongoing scarcity of large-yacht docking space in the region could lead to competitive offers for these berths.
