Bionetix's BIOBOOSTER SR Achieves 63%-70% Sludge Reduction in Wastewater Treatment Trials
Bionetix International's BIOBOOSTER SR sludge-digesting tablets have shown a 63%-70% reduction in sludge volume during trials at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The trials, conducted in 2022-2024 under PR'eautech Instrumentation & Odeurs' guidance, indicate a significant return on investment compared to conventional mechanical dredging methods, which are costly and disruptive. This bioaugmentation solution aims to revolutionize sludge management, reducing frequency and costs associated with traditional removal techniques.
Bionetix International's BIOBOOSTER SR sludge-digesting tablets have successfully achieved sludge volume reductions of 63%-70% in trials conducted at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The trials began in 2022 and continued into 2024, under the guidance of PR'eautech Instrumentation & Odeurs, focusing on two multi-cell aerated lagoon systems.
The results indicated a 70% reduction in one pond, with follow-up trials showing reductions of 63% and 68% in two additional ponds. This bioaugmentation method offers a cost-effective alternative to mechanical sludge dredging, which can be financially burdensome and disruptive to operations. The tablets enhance biodegradation of organic waste, potentially saving millions in sludge removal costs.
