Black Canyon has confirmed the potential for early-stage direct shipping ore (DSO) development at the Wandanya manganese project in Western Australia. Recent metallurgical test results indicated the production of low-cost DSO manganese and iron products, with low concentrations of deleterious elements.

The project benefits from a simple geological model, enabling low-cost mining. A second stage of metallurgical testwork using heavy liquid separation techniques is in progress, alongside a planned 15,000m drilling program to explore and delineate further mineralization in the area.
