Blackpool Council plans to invest £54 million into the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, with approval expected on March 16. This funding aims to enhance infrastructure, including the completion of Vickers Way and upgrades to Common Edge Road, facilitating further development and job creation.

The Enterprise Zone has already created 2,700 jobs since its inception, with potential for more as significant projects like Silicon Sands progress. The tender process for a data center developer is underway, and Electricity North West is investing £5 million for green electricity supply to support ongoing and future developments. Work on the Airport East road is also expected to be completed later this year.
