Blackstone Completes 694MW Magnolia CCGT Plant in Louisiana
Blackstone has finished constructing the 694MW Magnolia Power Generating Station in Plaquemine, Louisiana, which is now operational and aims to provide electricity for over 500,000 homes. The project began in 2022 and employed over 400 local workers. It is recognized as the first hydrogen-capable advanced-class generator in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator South region.

Blackstone Energy Transition Partners has completed the Magnolia Power Generating Station, a 694MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana, now operational and set to supply power to over 500,000 homes. Construction started in 2022, employing 400 local workers.
The facility is the first hydrogen-capable, advanced-class generator in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator South region. This project is part of Blackstone's investment strategy in North American energy, which includes other facilities contributing approximately 2GW to power generation capacity.
