Blanchard Approves Water Services Agreement for Potential Data Center Development

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The town of Blanchard, Louisiana, has approved a water services agreement with a potential data center company, which could generate millions in revenue. The agreement ensures no increase in water rates for residents, as the company will finance additional infrastructure to supply water.

The project will be implemented in phases, starting with an initial water usage of 1.3 to 1.4 million gallons per day, potentially expanding to 3 to 4 million gallons as demand increases. Blanchard currently sells about 3.4 million gallons daily during summer months.

The company will also upgrade existing water lines and improve the distribution system. An official announcement regarding the company is anticipated later this winter.
