Block 61 Gas Production Reaches 547.5 Bcf in 2025: BP Oman
In 2025, Block 61's natural gas output reached approximately 547.5 billion cubic feet, supplying one-third of Oman's gas demand. This achievement highlights BP's significant role in Oman’s energy sector, emphasizing operational efficiency and environmental commitments.

BP Oman reported that Block 61 produced around 547.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas in 2025, equating to a daily output of 1.5 billion cubic feet. The block, which is operated by BP with a 40% interest, contributed to approximately one-third of Oman's total gas demand.
In the same year, BP drilled and tested 25 wells while implementing a green completion process to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, BP is advancing the Hyport Duqm project for green hydrogen, currently in the pre-FEED stage.
A nine-year LNG offtake agreement with Oman LNG for 1 million tonnes per annum commenced in 2026. BP Oman achieved OGMP Level 5 for methane reporting, indicating a commitment to emissions management and supporting Oman Vision 2040.
