Blue Origin Targets 100 New Glenn Rockets by 2029 Amid SpaceX Competition
Blue Origin plans to produce 100 New Glenn rockets annually by 2029, a significant increase from its current output. This initiative aims to enhance its market position against SpaceX, which dominates the industry.

Blue Origin aims to ramp up New Glenn rocket production from 12 to 60 units by Q3 2028, eventually reaching 100 rockets per year by 2029. The New Glenn rocket, which has launched three times, is designed to enhance payload capacity for missions to low Earth orbit and beyond, including the Moon and Mars.
However, its recent mission failure led to a grounding by the Federal Aviation Administration. In contrast, SpaceX's Falcon 9 currently accounts for over 50% of global rocket launches and 85% in the U.S. Blue Origin's ambitious plans face significant challenges, especially as SpaceX continues to advance its Starship program, aiming for a V3 launch capable of carrying over 100 tons to orbit this quarter.
