Blue Origin to Launch 5,408 Satellites for TeraWave Internet Network
Blue Origin plans to launch 5,408 satellites for its TeraWave communication network, aimed at providing data speeds of up to 6 Tbps for around 100,000 institutional clients starting in Q4 2027. Utilizing low and medium Earth orbit satellites, TeraWave seeks to compete with existing networks like SpaceX's Starlink and Amazon's Leo, offering significantly higher download speeds. Both Blue Origin and Amazon are associated with Jeff Bezos, who is behind the ambitious satellite deployment.

Blue Origin announced plans to deploy 5,408 satellites for the TeraWave communication network, targeting data centers, governments, and enterprises, starting in Q4 2027. The network aims for data speeds up to 6 Tbps, serving around 100,000 institutional clients.
TeraWave will utilize low and medium Earth orbit satellites, competing with SpaceX's Starlink and Amazon's Leo. Blue Origin's network will provide significantly higher download speeds compared to competitors.
Currently, SpaceX has approximately 7,800 operational satellites, while Amazon's Leo has over 150 launched and plans for 3,200. Both Blue Origin and Amazon are linked to Jeff Bezos.
