Blue Origin to Launch TeraWave Satellite Internet Network Competing with Starlink
Blue Origin plans to launch its TeraWave satellite internet network by late 2027, consisting of 5,408 satellites aimed at serving 100,000 customers, particularly in rural areas. With promised download speeds of 144 Gbps, TeraWave will compete against existing services like Starlink and Leo, which offer higher speeds but with fewer satellites. The launches will utilize Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, which has been operational since 2015.

Blue Origin will establish a satellite internet network named TeraWave by late 2027, featuring 5,408 satellites in low and medium orbit. The service aims for 100,000 customers, focusing on rural areas.
TeraWave promises download speeds of 144 Gbps, compared to Starlink's 310 Mbps and Leo's 400 Mbps. Starlink has been operational since 2019 with 7,800 satellites, while Leo is in testing with over 150 launched and plans for 3,200. Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, operational since 2015, will support the launches.
