Blue Origin to Launch TeraWave Satellite Network with 6Tbps Capacity for Enterprises
Blue Origin is set to launch the TeraWave satellite network, comprising 5,408 satellites in low- and medium-Earth orbit, starting in Q4 2027. The network aims to deliver data speeds of up to 6Tbps for data centers, governments, and enterprises, enhancing connectivity for up to 100,000 customers in remote areas. The company has filed for FCC approval to operate the constellation, which will use both RF and optical links to improve global network resilience.

Blue Origin plans to deploy 5,408 satellites in low- and medium-Earth orbit for its TeraWave project, intended for data centers, governments, and enterprises. Deployment is set to start in Q4 2027, providing data speeds of up to 6Tbps for a maximum of 100,000 customers.
The network will utilize both RF and optical links, with 5,280 satellites in LEO and 128 in MEO. TeraWave aims to deliver high-capacity, reliable connectivity for critical operations in remote and underserved areas. Blue Origin has filed with the FCC for operational approval of the constellation, which will enhance global connectivity and network resilience.
