Bobine Secures $14M to Advance Electrified Plastic Recycling Technology in France
French startup bobine has raised $14 million to scale its electrification technology for chemical plastic recycling. The funding, led by Axeleo Capital, will support the development of an industrial demonstrator in partnership with Michelin, with the goal of positioning bobine as a key player in the circular economy and complying with European plastics regulations.

Bobine, a French climate tech startup, has raised $14 million to industrialize its electrified plastic recycling technology. Led by Axeleo Capital, the funding will finance an industrial demonstrator with a capacity of one ton per day, to be installed with Michelin in Clermont-Ferrand.
Bobine’s technology, developed from research at CNRS and the University of Strasbourg, aims to convert non-recyclable plastics into valuable olefins, significantly improving conversion yield by 45% and reducing energy consumption by 60%. This funding aligns with Europe’s stricter plastics regulations, emphasizing the need for circular materials and decarbonization in the petrochemical industry.
