Borealis and FSG Returnables Launch Reusable Cup System at NHS Trust in UK
Borealis and FSG Returnables have implemented a reusable cup system at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, projected to save £27,582 (US$34,201) and support the UK's circular economy. The system replaces 175,500 disposable cups over three years with 898 reusable cups made from Borealis's Daploy high-melt-strength polypropylene using EcoCore technology. The initiative aligns with the UK's net-zero goals and introduces lower fees for reusable packaging under the packaging EPR scheme.

Borealis and FSG Returnables have launched a reusable cup system at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, expected to save £27,582 (US$34,201) over three years by replacing 175,500 disposable cups with 898 reusable ones. The cups are constructed from Borealis's Daploy high-melt-strength polypropylene using EcoCore technology, ensuring durability after over 1,000 washes.
This initiative supports the UK's circular economy and net-zero goals. The system also aligns with the UK's packaging EPR scheme, which offers lower fees for reusable packaging. NHFT has removed single-use cups from its cafes, promoting a culture of reuse among users.
