Bosch Implements Layoffs in China Amid Workforce Optimization for Hydrogen Projects
FUEL CELLHYDROGEN
Bosch has initiated a workforce optimization plan in China, impacting nearly 200 employees at its Wuxi plant, primarily in gasoline and hydrogen fuel cell projects. The layoffs are reported to have an economic severance package of 'N+4.'
A larger round of layoffs is anticipated in June 2026. Bosch launched its Wuxi hydrogen fuel cell center in early 2021 and has invested 1.133 billion yuan in a localized manufacturing project. Despite a sales increase to approximately RMB 142.7 billion in fiscal year 2024, Bosch faces challenges from a declining traditional vehicle market and hurdles in the new energy sector.
