Boskalis Completes UXO Clearance for Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm
Boskalis has successfully completed an unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance at the Gennaker offshore wind farm, facilitating upcoming submarine cable installation. This project will support 63 wind turbine generators with a total capacity of 976.5 MW, supplying green energy to approximately 1 million households.

Boskalis Hirdes EOD Services conducted a UXO identification and clearance at the Gennaker offshore wind farm, involving over 1,250 objects with one confirmed UXO. The Gennaker OWF, with 63 wind turbine generators and a capacity of 976.5 MW, is set to be the largest in the German Baltic Sea, supporting around 1 million households.
The clearance allows for submarine cable installation, planned for next year with the cable lay vessel BOKA Ocean. Manufacturing of the 130 kilometers of inner array grid cable will occur in the Netherlands by TKF Subsea Solutions B.V. The collaboration involved OWP Gennaker and Skyborn Renewables.
