Bourbong Street Reservoir Roof Upgrade Underway for Enhanced Water Supply
The Bourbong Street Reservoir, a critical water infrastructure asset, is undergoing a roof upgrade that began in September 2025. This enhancement aims to ensure a reliable water supply for Bundaberg, with project completion expected by early May 2026.

Upgrades to the Bourbong Street Reservoir began in September 2025, focusing on its roof and supporting structure to mitigate risks to water quality. The reservoir, with a capacity of nine million liters, has been essential to Bundaberg's water network since the mid-1970s.
The installation of a new roof, designed with durable materials for improved ventilation, commenced in March 2026 and is progressing without disrupting the community's water supply. Completion of the project is anticipated by early May 2026. This upgrade is crucial for maintaining the resilience of the local water infrastructure.
