BP Reports Over 100% Increase in Q2 Earnings, Initiates Sale of Archaea Energy
BP PLC's net adjusted income for Q2 surged to $5.73 billion, exceeding Bloomberg estimates. The company is exploring the sale of Archaea Energy, part of a broader operational restructuring.

BP PLC reported a Q2 net adjusted income of $5.73 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of over 100%, surpassing Bloomberg's estimate of $5.01 billion. This growth is attributed to higher oil and gas sales prices amid supply disruptions in the Middle East.
The earnings attributable to shareholders rose to $3.91 billion from $1.63 billion in the previous year. Additionally, BP declared a dividend of 8.66 cents per share for Q2. The company has initiated a process to sell its biogas operations, Archaea Energy, as part of ongoing restructuring efforts, which includes prior sales of its Gelsenkirchen refinery and retail operations in Austria.
