BPER Bank Funds Grimaldi's Fleet Renewal with €55 Million Loan
BPER Banca has secured a €55 million financing agreement with Grimaldi Euromed S.p.A. to support fleet modernization efforts. This investment aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in maritime transport.

BPER Banca has finalized a €55 million financing deal with Grimaldi Euromed S.p.A. for fleet modernization over ten years. The funds will partially cover the acquisition of the 'Grande Manila,' a Pure Car & Truck Carrier (PCTC) capable of transporting over 9,200 vehicles, which joined the fleet in January.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to construct 17 new ammonia-ready car carriers designed to utilize ammonia as a zero-emission fuel. The new vessels are expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 50% per unit compared to previous generations. Access to specialized finance is increasingly vital for maritime operators aiming for sustainable supply chains amid growing regulatory pressures.
