Craig, who has over 25 years of experience, previously served as president of the Americas and led BHP's Western Australia iron ore business. Henry's tenure saw BHP become the world’s largest copper producer and maintain its position as the lowest-cost major iron producer. Craig is committed to continuing BHP's focus on operational excellence and shareholder value.

BHP Group Ltd has announced the appointment of Brandon Craig as CEO, effective July 1, 2026, succeeding Mike Henry after his six-and-a-half-year tenure. Craig, with over 25 years at BHP, previously led the company’s Western Australia iron ore operations and served as president of the Americas.
Under Henry, BHP became the largest copper producer globally and maintained its status as the lowest-cost major iron producer. Craig aims to drive operational excellence and shareholder value while continuing the company's strategic growth in copper and potash. BHP's ongoing projects include the Jansen potash mine in Saskatchewan, with revised costs of US$8.4 billion.
