Brazil Aims to Become Digital Infrastructure Hub of Southern Hemisphere at Capacity LATAM 2026
The Brazilian Ministry of Communications presented strategies at Capacity LATAM 2026 to establish Brazil as the main digital infrastructure hub in the Southern Hemisphere. Key focuses include modernizing existing facilities and addressing submarine cable maintenance as critical infrastructure. The ministry proposed including data center retrofitting in the special tax regime Redata to enhance technological upgrades and elevate data centers to critical infrastructure status. The event in São Paulo gathers over 60 leaders in digital connectivity and infrastructure.
