Brookfield to Increase Korean Investments to 30 Trillion Won by 2030
Brookfield Asset Management plans to raise its investment in South Korea from 17 trillion won to 30 trillion won by 2030, targeting sectors such as AI, power infrastructure, and data centers. This expansion aligns with the growing demand in these areas and reflects the company's strategic focus on high-potential industries amid a realignment of the semiconductor supply chain.

Brookfield Asset Management aims to grow its investments in South Korea from 17 trillion won ($11.33 billion) to 30 trillion won by 2030, focusing on AI, power infrastructure, and data centers. The firm has identified significant opportunities in these sectors, driven by the increasing demand for power infrastructure and the ongoing semiconductor supply chain realignment.
In recent years, Brookfield has made several investments, including participation in SK airplus's industrial gas facilities and the establishment of domestic data centers through its subsidiary DCI. Additionally, it has acquired platforms in the Korean energy market and initiated a fund for renewable energy investments.
The company foresees substantial opportunities in the Korean market, particularly in real estate, with plans to expand its total investment in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions from $40 billion to $100 billion in the long term. The strategic focus on digitalization, decarbonization, and deglobalization will continue to guide Brookfield's investment decisions, as these megatrends influence market dynamics.
