Brown Fields to Redevelop Former Sugar Factory in Cagny, France into AI Data Center
The Saint Louis sugar factory in Cagny, France, is set to be acquired by Brown Fields for redevelopment into an AI data center. The site, spanning 33 hectares, was closed in 2020 and will involve negotiations between Brown Fields and current owner Saint Louis Sucre. The project is estimated to cost between €15-€20 million and benefits from existing infrastructure, including a nearby 220,000 volt power line and a connection to the Flamanville nuclear power station.

Brown Fields plans to acquire the 33-hectare Saint Louis sugar factory in Cagny, France, for redevelopment into an AI data center. The site, which closed in 2020 after operating since 1950, is currently owned by Saint Louis Sucre, with ongoing negotiations between the two entities.
The redevelopment is estimated to cost between €15-€20 million. France is expanding its AI data center capacity, identifying 35 potential sites, although Cagny is not among them.
