Brunswick Real Estate has submitted an application to reserve approximately 7.3 hectares in Heikinlaakso, Suurmetsä, for a proposed data center near Helsinki. The planned facility will reach heights between 21 and 30 meters (69 - 94 feet) and is currently situated in a woodland area primarily zoned for business.
The Urban Environment Committee will process the application by summer 2026, following public feedback. A change to the local plan is necessary, and further details regarding the operator will be required if the reservation is approved. This development could enhance regional data capabilities and attract tech investments.
