Buildings and Grounds Committee Approves College at Wise Master Plan and Fontaine Data Center Design
The Board of Visitors Buildings and Grounds Committee approved updates to the College at Wise's 2035 Master Plan and a schematic design for a Research Data Center at Fontaine Research Park. The plan includes new academic buildings, dorm renovations, and a multi-use facility. The data center will start at four megawatts capacity, expandable to 16 megawatts. The Committee also discussed the School of Data Science and Entrepreneurship building and the FY2027 Major Capital Plan, which totals $1.8 billion with five new proposed projects.

The data center will begin with four megawatts of capacity and can expand to 16 megawatts. Design plans for the School of Data Science and Entrepreneurship building were also presented. The FY2027 Major Capital Plan was discussed, proposing five new projects totaling $1.8 billion. The next Committee meeting is scheduled for June 4 and 5.
