BYD and Hithium Awarded Energy Storage Contracts by PowerChina and China Electric Equipment Group

On December 31, BYD was selected as the leading candidate for a large-scale energy storage system procurement project by PowerChina, covering the Quzhou County 400 MW and Cheng'an County 450 MW projects. China Railway Materials Group was the second candidate, followed by Hebei Huijin Group.

On the same day, Hithium Energy won a bid for large-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery cells from China Electric Equipment Group, which shortlisted eight suppliers including CATL and EVE Energy. The procurement process involved a framework shortlisting model for cells of 314 Ah and above, with construction entities including Shandong Electric Power Times, Xuchang XJ Electric Energy, and Pinggao Group, all subsidiaries of China Electric Equipment Group.
