ByteDance Begins Construction of Mega Data Center in Caucaia, Brazil
ByteDance has begun construction on a major data center in Pecém, Caucaia, with the project managed by Omnia and TikTok as the client. The initial phase, which includes land clearing and earthworks, is expected to create around 4,000 jobs and requires a R$ 15 billion investment, with the first data hall set for completion in September 2027. Overall, the project could exceed R$ 200 billion for future expansions.

Construction of ByteDance's data center in Pecém, Caucaia, commenced in January. Omnia is managing the project with TikTok as the client and Casa dos Ventos for energy production. The initial phase will create approximately 4,000 jobs and includes land clearing and earthworks. The first data hall is projected for completion in September 2027, requiring a R$ 15 billion investment for the initial phase and exceeding R$ 200 billion for all expansions.
