Cadent Plans HEast Hydrogen Pipeline to Supply Humber, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire Industries
Cadent has unveiled plans for the HEast Pipeline, a 150km underground project designed to supply low-carbon hydrogen to industries in the Humber, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire regions. This initiative aims to support the transition from natural gas to hydrogen for sectors such as steel, chemicals, and food, and is part of the East Coast Hydrogen initiative. Public feedback will be sought later this year as the project progresses through the Government's Development Consent Order process, with a timeline of four to five years for completion.

Cadent has announced plans for the HEast Pipeline: Humber to Nottinghamshire, aimed at supplying low-carbon hydrogen to industries in the Humber, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire regions. Spanning approximately 150km (93 miles) from Immingham to Newark, the underground pipeline will facilitate the transition from natural gas to hydrogen for manufacturers in sectors such as steel, chemicals, and food.
This project is part of the broader East Coast Hydrogen initiative, which connects hydrogen production and storage with industrial users. Cadent is in the early planning stages and will seek public feedback on the proposals later this year. The pipeline's development is expected to follow the Government's Development Consent Order process, taking four to five years from initiation to decision.
