Calderdale Wind Farm Reduces Turbines to 34, Campaigners Continue Opposition
Calderdale Wind Farm Ltd has scaled back its project plans, reducing the number of turbines from 41 to 34 and removing the battery energy storage system. This decision follows feedback from a consultation. Despite these changes, campaigners, including local MP Robbie Moore, oppose the project, citing environmental concerns and the potential impact on local wildlife. The company aims to export around 240 MW of renewable electricity to the Bradford West substation and plans to hold a statutory consultation this spring.

Calderdale Wind Farm Ltd has revised its plans for the wind farm at Walshaw Moor, now proposing 34 turbines instead of 41 and removing the battery energy storage system. These adjustments result from feedback during a consultation and ongoing assessments.
However, opposition persists, led by campaigners who argue the project poses significant environmental risks, including damage to protected peatlands and wildlife habitats. The project aims to export approximately 240 MW of renewable energy to the Bradford West substation. A statutory consultation is scheduled for spring.
