Cambium Networks Introduces Public IP Addressing for LEO Satellite and LTE/5G Networks
Cambium Networks announced an enhancement to its Network Service Edge (NSE) and SD-WAN platform allowing service providers to assign static public IP addresses over WireGuard VPN tunnels. This addresses the lack of public IPs on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and 4G/5G cellular connections.
Service providers deploy NSE in their data centers with a pool of public IPv4 addresses, enabling customer sites to receive dedicated static public IPs. Traffic is routed through the provider's data center, offering complete visibility and control.
The solution supports integrated SD-WAN features, next-gen firewalls, intrusion prevention, content filtering, and QoS. This model allows providers to maintain ownership of customer data without relying on cloud-managed routing, utilizing Cambium’s cnMaestro™ for orchestration and monitoring.
