Cambodia and Thailand Border Tensions Escalate Over Landmine Incident
Cambodia and Thailand's border tensions have heightened following a landmine explosion that injured three Thai soldiers on July 16. Cambodia asserts the landmine is a remnant of past conflicts, while Thailand claims it was newly planted, leading to diplomatic briefings involving military attachés from 47 nations.

On July 22, the Royal Thai Army briefed military attachés from 47 countries regarding a landmine explosion that injured three Thai soldiers. Thailand has accused Cambodia of planting the landmine, which Cambodia denies, asserting it is a relic from earlier conflicts.
Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has intensified efforts to remove landmines in disputed areas. Brigadier General Hom Kim represented Cambodia at the briefing, where Thailand claimed the mines violated the Ottawa Convention.
Prime Minister Hun Manet warned Thailand not to breach Cambodia's sovereignty and condemned alleged misinformation from Thai media. Both nations have been urged to resolve the conflict through the International Court of Justice.
