Cambodia Seeks India's Support for Clean Energy Transition and Infrastructure Development
Cambodia's Energy Minister Keo Rottanak is actively seeking India's investment, technology transfer, and infrastructure financing to enhance the country's clean energy initiatives and regional energy security. This collaboration is crucial for managing demand and expanding supply in Cambodia's energy sector, which already generates over 63% of its energy from renewable sources.

Cambodia is looking for India's support in infrastructure financing and technology transfer to advance its clean energy transition. Energy Minister Keo Rottanak highlighted the necessity of India's involvement to foster regional energy cooperation and secure investments, noting the need for over USD 33 billion to enhance Cambodia’s energy sector.
The country generates over 63% of its energy from renewable sources and aims to scale up electrification in various sectors while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The proposed ASEAN power grid presents a significant opportunity for India to contribute to regional connectivity, enhancing resilience and sustainability across member states. Rottanak emphasized the importance of creating a conducive policy environment to attract private investment and address climate finance challenges.
