Campbell County Board to Review Zoning Approval for MESH Capital's Data Center Proposal
The Campbell County Board of Supervisors will review the zoning approval for MESH Capital LLC's proposed data center in the Concord District, following a resident's petition. Although the project initially met local zoning requirements, a recent ordinance change now requires special-use permits for data centers. The board has delayed its final decision on the ordinance by 120 days, and if the zoning decision is upheld, MESH Capital can move forward; otherwise, the site can still be developed under existing heavy industrial zoning.

The Campbell County Board of Supervisors will hold a hearing to review the zoning approval for a data center proposed by MESH Capital LLC in the Concord District. The zoning administrator previously determined that the project's plans met local zoning requirements.
Following a petition from a nearby resident, the board will assess the zoning decision at a work session on Tuesday. The 57-acre parcel is currently zoned for heavy industrial use, allowing data centers by-right, but a recent emergency ordinance has shifted data centers to requiring special-use permits.
This change necessitates board approval and resident input for future developments. The board voted to delay the final decision on the ordinance by 120 days for further discussion. If the board affirms the zoning decision, MESH Capital can proceed with project plans; if overturned, the company can still develop the site under existing heavy industrial zoning conditions.
