Canada Awards Nearly $2B Contract to General Dynamics for Armoured Vehicles
The Canadian government has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada a contract worth nearly $2 billion to produce 190 armoured combat support vehicles, expanding the military fleet from 360 to 550 units. This marks GDLS-Canada as the first strategic partner under Canada's new defence industrial strategy, aimed at enhancing domestic military capabilities and supply chains.

Canada's federal government has contracted General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada for nearly $2 billion to manufacture 190 armoured combat support vehicles over four years. This contract will increase the fleet of armoured vehicles for the Canadian Army to 550, supporting approximately 6,000 jobs, primarily in the London region.
GDLS-Canada is now recognized as the first strategic partner under a new defence industrial strategy, which encourages investments in Canadian research and supply chains. The vehicles will be built using Canadian materials and labor, engaging over 600 suppliers across more than 100 communities. This initiative aligns with a broader commitment of $81.8 billion in defence spending over five years to enhance military capabilities.
