The UK Department for Business and Trade announced a Canada Space Investment Mission for Canadian companies to explore opportunities in the UK space sector. This aligns with Canada's C$200 million commitment to sovereign launch capability.
The mission coincides with the Space-Comm Europe event, attracting over 5,000 participants. Canadian companies must meet specific eligibility criteria to apply. Separately, Orbex, a UK rocket company, is negotiating a potential sale to The Exploration Company (TEC), which is developing reusable spacecraft.
Orbex has faced delays in its launch schedule, now targeting early 2026 after previous setbacks. The UK Space Agency has awarded a £105,000 contract for financial due diligence on Orbex regarding a £20 million loan. TEC has contracts worth €800 million and aims for profitability by 2027.
