Four individuals perished when their car fell into the Baira Siul river from the Nakrod-Himgiri road in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, late Saturday night. Emergency services, including police and a fire brigade team, responded on Sunday morning.
The vehicle's occupants were reported to be from Tikrigarh gram panchayat in Churah. The Baira Siul dam, operated by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), is a 180 MW hydroelectric project in the area. This incident raises concerns about road safety and infrastructure in rural areas, highlighting the need for improved measures to prevent similar accidents.
