CarbiCrete Secures $700,000 for Decarbonized Concrete Development from Canadian Government
CarbiCrete has received $700,000 from Canada's Energy Innovation Program to enhance its cement-free concrete technology. This funding aims to enable industrial emitters to utilize flue-gas emissions for concrete production, fostering decarbonization efforts.

CarbiCrete has been awarded $700,000 from the Energy Innovation Program (EIP) to develop cement-free concrete processes that utilize low CO₂ or flue-gas emissions. This initiative is part of a broader investment of $28.9 million across 12 projects aimed at advancing clean energy technologies in Canada.
CarbiCrete's solution eliminates cement, using steel-making by-products and CO₂ for curing, thus sequestering carbon within the products. The funding will facilitate research into new curing processes effective at low CO₂ levels. The ability to use flue gas as a CO₂ source could significantly enhance emissions reduction capabilities for heavy industries, promoting a circular economy.
