Carrier Invests €12M in R&D Facility for Data Center Solutions in Ain
Carrier's €12 million investment enhances its European R&D center in Ain to support high-performance thermal solutions amid data center growth. This initiative aligns with the rising demand driven by artificial intelligence and regulatory changes in Europe.

Carrier has reinforced its R&D capabilities in Ain, France, with a €12 million investment in a new testing facility. The center, expanding to nearly 5,000 m², allows for testing thermal equipment under extreme conditions ranging from -20 °C to +60 °C, validating performance for data center applications.
The facility can evaluate systems with power outputs up to 6 MW, contributing to the growing data center market, projected to add 13 GW of capacity in the EMEA region by 2030. Additionally, Carrier invested €4 million in its Culoz site for air treatment solutions for data centers, addressing energy efficiency and compliance with European decarbonization regulations. The focus on advanced testing conditions supports innovation in energy-efficient technologies.
