CATL to Expand 200GWh Capacity in Fujian, Solid-State Battery Projects Launched in Shanghai
CATL is set to invest over 60 billion yuan to expand its lithium battery capacity by 200GWh in Ningde, Fujian Province. This initiative is part of a strategic cooperation agreement with the Ningde Municipal Government centered on zero-carbon technology, encompassing 33 initiatives across various sectors.
In Shanghai, two solid-state battery projects were signed on February 27, targeting production by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, Sichuan Tianhua Times New Energy has begun construction on a 3 billion yuan lithium battery materials project, expected to yield 60,000 tons annually, with full production anticipated in early 2027. The company has established production bases in Yibin, Meishan, and Yichun.
