CCS Energie Advies Reports Decline in SDE++ Applications for Green Gas from Farmers
CCS Energie Advies reported a significant decline in SDE++ applications for green gas from farmers, with only about 10 applications this year compared to over 100 last year, primarily due to permit issues and budget depletion. The available budget for green gas was overshadowed by competing technologies, leading to no allocations for agricultural projects and jeopardizing the government's goal of producing 1.1 billion m³ of green gas annually by 2030.

CCS Energie Advies reported only about 10 SDE++ applications this year due to permit issues, a decline from over 100 successful applications last year. The available budget of 8 billion euros was heavily oversubscribed with nearly 22 billion euros requested.
The sector for green gas from farmers, categorized under 'Molecules' with a budget of 750 million euros, was depleted by other technologies, including a hydrogen production project claiming 1.15 billion euros. Additionally, Bio-LNG projects, benefiting from HBE certificates, overshadowed farmer applications, leaving no budget for agricultural projects. This situation results in no SDE++ allocations for farmers, postponed investments, reduced manure processing, and less sustainable energy production, jeopardizing the government's 2030 goal of producing 1.1 billion m³ of green gas annually.
