CDA Initiates Feasibility Study for Electric Tram Service in Islamabad
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will conduct a feasibility study for an electric tram service in Islamabad to enhance environmentally friendly public transport. The project aims to establish necessary infrastructure, including depots and charging facilities, and integrate with existing transit systems. The study will prioritize connections to key locations, such as Islamabad International Airport, while considering current ridership and future demand.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to begin a feasibility study for an electric tram service in Islamabad. This decision, made during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, focuses on implementing a modern public transport system.
The project will involve creating depots, charging infrastructure, and maintenance facilities, adhering to a modern Intelligent Transport System (ITS). It will also be fully digital and cashless, with an emphasis on acquiring carbon credits. The tram service aims to connect key city locations, including Islamabad International Airport, while addressing current and future transport needs.
