CDEK, a Russian delivery company, has migrated 95 percent of its operations from Novosibirsk to Moscow, covering 3,000 km. Key migration activities, completed on January 1, 2026, involved transporting 300TB of data via plane and migrating a total of 1.17 petabytes, around 90 percent of the company's total data.
To facilitate high-speed data transmission, both locations had dedicated communication channels with 20Gbps and three internet channels of 12 Gbps. CDEK faced challenges such as signal latency during the migration, which was timed to prevent customer disruptions.
Since the migration began, CDEK has installed 238 pieces of equipment in the new Moscow data center, including 83 servers and 86 storage systems, aiming to enhance application speed and security. The Novosibirsk data center will not be used for future operations.
