Ceará Launches Cesium Atomic Clock for Enhanced Digital Time Synchronization
The deployment of a cesium atomic clock at Etice's Data Center in Fortaleza establishes a Stratum-1 time server, improving precision and reducing dependency on external references. This initiative strengthens the region's digital infrastructure, benefiting various sectors including telecommunications, finance, and AI applications.

The cesium atomic clock at the Data Center of the Information Technology Company of Ceará (Etice) is now operational, marking Ceará as the first state in the Northeast to host a Stratum-1 server. This installation reduces reliance on time references from other regions, enhancing the resilience of digital services.
The atomic clock ensures an accuracy of less than 1 nanosecond per day, surpassing GPS precision and providing a stable time reference essential for critical operations in sectors such as banking and telecommunications. This advancement positions Ceará as a strategic hub for technological infrastructure in Brazil, potentially attracting further investment into the region's digital ecosystem. The initiative is part of the national Project Tempo Brasil aimed at improving time synchronization across various data centers.
