Installation of a 1MW alkaline electrolyser by Asahi Kasei has started at a hydrogen refuelling station in Jyväskylä, Finland. The Central Finland Mobility Foundation (Cefmof) will integrate the unit, with production expected to begin in summer 2026.

The electrolyser will generate up to 400kg of hydrogen per day, aiding local hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The station has been operational since summer 2025, relying on deliveries from P2X Solutions. Additional electrolyser units may be added in the future. The project represents a key development in Finland's hydrogen production capabilities.
