Cenergi SEA and Malaysia Airports Co-Develop 36 MW Solar and 45 MWh Battery Project at KLIA
Cenergi SEA Bhd and KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd are co-developing a 36 MWp solar photovoltaic power plant with a 45 MWh battery energy storage system under the Solar for Self-Consumption programme. The project is managed by Cenergi Aeropolis Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Cenergi and KLIA Aeropolis, and will be located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
This facility aims to generate approximately 46 GWh of clean electricity annually over a 25-year lifespan, reducing carbon emissions by around 35,000 tonnes per year. It supports Malaysia Airports' target of achieving a 20% renewable energy mix by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050. This initiative also represents Cenergi's first deployment of a battery energy storage system integrated with a large-scale solar facility.
