The Town of Century is installing bat houses to establish habitats for local bats and mitigate damage to municipal property. The initiative involves Northview High School students and local business Gibbs Equipment to enhance community collaboration.

The Town of Century is implementing a bat house installation project to address damage caused by local bats to municipal equipment. Students from the Northview High School Building Construction Academy constructed 30 bat boxes, which are being installed by Gibbs Equipment across various locations, including the Century Business Center.
Additional sites for installation include Century Town Hall, Showalter Park, Nadine McCaw Park, McMurray Park, and the Century Wastewater Treatment Plant. This initiative aims not only to protect infrastructure but also to leverage bats for natural pest control in public areas.
