CERC Approves Withdrawal of ASHL's 1200 MW BESS Metering Petition
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has allowed ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ASHL) to withdraw its Petition No. 835/MP/2025 regarding a metering scheme for its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, which aimed to optimize 1200 MW connectivity. ASHL's objectives were largely met with the approval of the final metering scheme by the Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NRLDC) in October 2025. The CERC has granted ASHL the option to approach them again for future challenges related to the BESS implementation.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has permitted ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ASHL) to withdraw Petition No. 835/MP/2025 concerning the metering scheme for its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project intended to optimize 1200 MW connectivity. ASHL sought regulatory support for its metering arrangement, which was addressed when the Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NRLDC) approved the final metering scheme in October 2025.
ASHL expressed its intention to withdraw during a hearing on February 5, 2026, stating its objectives were achieved. The CERC formally disposed of the petition, allowing ASHL to seek future remedies if necessary.
