CERC Grants SPPL Continuation of 700 MW GNA for Navi Mumbai Data Center with New Timeline
On February 14, 2026, CERC permitted Support Properties Private Limited (SPPL) to continue its 700 MW General Network Access (GNA) for a data center in Navi Mumbai, despite a prior relinquishment. SPPL originally secured the GNA in October 2024 but sought to withdraw in January 2025 due to project timeline changes. After further examination, CERC allowed SPPL to maintain the GNA with a revised start date of 2028, contingent on compliance with GNA Regulations and submission of a Connectivity Bank Guarantee.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) ruled on February 14, 2026, allowing Support Properties Private Limited (SPPL) to retain its 700 MW General Network Access (GNA) for a data center in Navi Mumbai. SPPL had initially received the GNA in October 2024 but sought to relinquish it in January 2025 due to an earlier power requirement.
Following encashment of bank guarantees by the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL), SPPL requested CERC to reverse its relinquishment and continue with the GNA, citing changed market conditions. CERC ultimately permitted the continuation with a new start date of 2028 and required SPPL to submit a guarantee amounting to 10% of the total Connectivity Bank Guarantee.
