Cespira's Hydrogen HPDI Fuel System Enters On-Road Testing Phase with Volvo
Cespira's hydrogen HPDI™ fuel system will be tested by Volvo in heavy-duty trucks, aiming for a commercial launch by 2030. This initiative supports climate neutrality and zero-emission standards while utilizing existing engine technologies.

Cespira's hydrogen HPDI™ fuel system is now in on-road testing with Volvo, aiming for a commercial launch before 2030. This technology, which operates on hydrogen, delivers significant CO2 reductions compared to diesel-powered trucks and maintains compatibility with existing engine architectures.
The hydrogen HPDI system is based on a proven platform that has been successfully deployed in over 10,000 Volvo LNG trucks globally. It is expected to be classified as a Zero Emissions Vehicle under EU CO2 standards, promoting energy security and independence. The transition to hydrogen offers a viable pathway for the heavy-duty mobility sector in achieving climate goals.
