CFE, SENER, and Sonora Government Forge Agreements for Energy Development
The CFE and the Government of Sonora have established agreements to advance renewable energy initiatives in Sonora, including the construction of key infrastructure. This development aims to enhance economic growth and reduce emissions in the region.

The Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and the Government of Sonora have signed agreements to enhance renewable energy efforts, focusing on the 'Techos Solares para el Bienestar' program that aims to subsidize photovoltaic systems for vulnerable households. A new Electric Maneuvering Substation with a capacity of 227.1 MW is planned to support a scientific industrial park, alongside a 230 kV transmission line.
Additionally, a Data Center by FOXCONN, requiring 857.4 MW, will have a dedicated 400 kV substation and a 62 km transmission line to connect to the Seri substation. These projects are expected to bolster the local economy and promote clean energy.
