Chartwell Marine and the Cooperative Association of Japan Shipbuilders (CAJS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 16, 2026, to advance Japan's offshore wind vessel supply chain. The partnership will focus on Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) and Service Operation Vessels (SOVs), utilizing Chartwell's designs introduced in Japan via a Nippon Foundation-supported initiative.

CAJS will bridge communication between domestic stakeholders and Chartwell, assisting in the design and local construction of vessels that meet project and content regulations. Future collaboration may include battery-powered and hybrid vessels.
